At Versalift, we’re proud of our apprenticeship programme that helps develop the next generation of engineering talent. We recently sat down with one of our apprentices to discuss their experience working with us in Ireland.
What made you choose Versalift for your apprenticeship?
“The idea of working for a manufacturer/engineering company has always been something i wanted to do and when versalift offered me a job and an apprenticeship, I was delighted to work for them.”
How did the apprenticeship help you develop your engineering skills?
“From being on the road with the field service engineers and working in the workshop really helped me to learn new skills that I could use.”
Can you describe a real-world project you worked on and what you learned from it?
“Working on all the new ESB unit/trucks has been a great project for me to learn and help understand the importance of the idea of insulated booms.”
What kind of mentorship and support did you receive from the team?
“My mentors and colleagues in versalift have always been extremely helpful and willing to teach me new problem-solving skills that I did not have before.”
How did working at Versalift prepare you for a career in engineering?
“I have gained a load of new engineering skills that I never had before and then improved my skills by working on all the brands and models.”
What has been your biggest achievement during your apprenticeship?
“My biggest achievement since starting in versalift I have gained the confidence to complete jobs on my own by working on different brands and machine types as well as the brand-new models that have been introduced into Ireland as well as completing a few boom strip outs and remounts.”
How would you describe the company culture and work environment?
“I would describe it that there is never a dull moment working in Versalift Ireland from all the laughs there is in the workshop.”
